Medical Informatics Engineering (MIE) Announces Reseller Agreement with Harmony Healthcare IT

– Industry Leaders Combine to Bring Electronic Health Records (EHR's) to Physicians –

Fort Wayne, Ind. - April 1, 2010 - Medical Informatics Engineering, a web-based, Minimally InvasiveTM™ EHR provider, today announced a reseller agreement with Harmony Healthcare IT that will offer best-in-class electronic health record solutions to physician practices. The agreement allows Harmony Healthcare IT to include Medical Informatics Engineering's WebChart and WebChart EHR Now products into its healthcare IT suite of services.

MIE's WebChart and WebChart EHR Now solutions will give Harmony Healthcare IT yet another product offering that will help physician offices improve efficiencies, control costs and accelerate billing processes without disrupting current workflow.

"We are committed to providing the right healthcare IT products and services to our customers, said Rick Adams, General Manager at Harmony Healthcare IT. We chose MIE as an EHR partner because they offer a complete, affordable and integrated web-based EHR solution designed to make life easier for physicians, their staff and their patients.

WebChart is a web-based, Software as a Service (SaaS) EHR that employs a minimally invasive (i.e. simple-to-deploy and easy-to-use) approach to implementation and is designed to help practices demonstrate meaningful use and qualify for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) incentives. The solution is also interoperable with consumer health platforms like Google Health, Microsoft HealthVault and NoMoreClipboard.com and is built to integrate with other healthcare IT applications such as practice management solutions, enabling physicians to adopt an EHR without the need to change current billing systems.

Medical Informatics Engineering is thrilled to have Harmony Healthcare IT as a new channel partner, said Doug Horner, Founder and President of MIE. Their expertise in providing health IT support services for small to mid-size physician practices, large healthcare groups and community centers will help us gain significant traction in areas where demand for EHR solutions are growing.

About Medical Informatics Engineering (MIE):

Founded in 1995, MIE has developed a web-based, Minimally Invasive™ EHR portfolio that is deployed at physician practices and Fortune 500 organizations operating on-site employee health clinics. Unlike many EHR vendors that require physicians to alter the way they practice medicine to fit an inflexible software platform, MIE tailors its EHR solutions to fit the workflow preferences of each practice and its individual clinicians. This minimally invasive approach was designed to be:

  • Accessible - web-based to provide secure access to patient records anytime, anywhere, from any web browser.
  • Interoperable - designed to play well in the sandbox with other healthcare IT applications using standard interoperability protocols.
  • Flexible - configured to integrate with established practice workflow and available in modular, scalable increments.
  • Affordable - MIE's Software as a Service model requires less investment in hardware, and the minimally invasive approach leads to faster, wider adoption speeding practice ROI.
