MIE Client, Concentra, Listed on InformationWeek500 for its use of WebChart Enterprise Health

Concentra nabbed a spot on the publication’s coveted top 100 list due to its use of electronic health records.

ADDISON, Texas – Concentra, a leading provider of employer health care services, announced today that it has ranked in the top 100 on this year’s InformationWeek 500 -- an annual list of the best technology innovators in the U.S. Concentra landed a spot on the publication’s coveted top 100 list due to its ability to align industry-leading technology, including the use of electronic health records (EHR), with innovative health care services, thereby improving access to medical care for patients.

The company is one of the first to include electronic health records as part of its occupational health service offering to employers. Working with Medical Informatics Engineering (MIE), a provider of web-based EHR systems, Concentra has implemented this technology at several of its worksite health clinics, with many more slated for 2011. Concentra also received recognition for its innovative custom health care solutions that help to bring health care services directly to employers and employees. The company’s forward-thinking approach to unite technology and health care solutions has helped Concentra become a leader in the delivery of quality medical care to employers and employees.

“We are proud to be considered one of the top technology innovators in the country, joining the ranks of other industry-leading information technology companies,” said Concentra Chief Information Officer Suzanne Kosub. “Concentra’s utilization of technology as part of its health care service offering helps to increase communication, streamline processes, improve productivity, and moves us closer to our mission of improving America’s health, one patient at a time.”

“For 22 years, the InformationWeek 500 has honored the most innovative users of business technology,” said InformationWeek Editor-in-Chief Rob Preston. “As we start to emerge from the worst recession in decades, the IT focus is now on driving growth – new sources of revenue, new relationships with customers, even new business models. This year’s ranking places special emphasis on those companies and business technology executives leading that charge.”

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation’s most innovative users of technology with its annual 500/100 listing, and tracks technology, strategy, investments, and best practices of America’s best-known companies. Previous InformationWeek 500 top winners have included CME Group, Conway, National Semiconductor, Kimberly-Clark, Hilton Hotels, and Unam. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
