Doug Horner conceived both WebChart and the MedWeb network that enables healthcare providers to take advantage of WebChart. As president and chief system engineer, Doug is responsible for overall leadership across a broad range of activities, with special emphasis on strategic planning, product development, and integration efforts.

Doug has worked in the software industry for nearly 12 years, building expertise in systems, networks, and management. His experience in healthcare technology over the past six years has enabled MIE to predict the impact of intranets and other new technology on healthcare provision. Doug has published several papers on medical technology, artificial intelligence, and information systems. A former electrical engineering student at Purdue University, he has presented his findings at Purdue, as well as other organizations, including the Medical Group Management Association.
